Our Board of Directors governs the Chamber; several Committees plan and carry out the work; a small full-time staff manages the day-to-day operations.
The Belleville & District Chamber of Commerce is a not-for-profit business association that traces its origins back to 1864, when a group of local business leaders joined together to work for progress in the community. From that small group, the organization has grown to over 600 member businesses comprised of all sectors. The Board of Directors governs the Chamber; several Committees plan and carry out the work; a small full-time staff manages the day-to-day operations.
The focus of the Chamber has remained basically unchanged for over 135 years. Providing a means for like-minded business people to get together to share ideas and concerns, the Chamber is able to harness their energy and talent to drive cooperative efforts for the betterment of the community. Economic and Social Development have benefited from these efforts, as the Chamber strives to improve the environment for business and for the community in general.
