Belleville, ON — Family Tree Therapy Family Tree Therapy recently celebrated its opening with a ribbon cutting alongside the Belleville Chamber of Commerce, marking the beginning of its journey as a local, community-focused practice. Founded by Taylor Nelosn, a registered social worker with more than 15 years of experience, the practice was created in response to the growing emotional and mental health needs she witnessed firsthand while working closely with children and families.
After years on the front lines of social work, Taylor recognized a critical gap in accessible, safe, and nurturing therapeutic spaces for children. Family Tree Therapy was developed to meet that need; providing a welcoming environment where children can feel secure, supported, and understood while working through challenges related to emotions, behavior, trauma, and family transitions.
Family Tree Therapy offers counselling services rooted in compassion, connection, and evidence-based practices. With a strong focus on children and families, the practice emphasizes building trust, fostering resilience, and supporting healthy emotional development in a space designed specifically with young clients in mind.
“Children need a safe place where they feel seen, heard, and supported,” said Nelson. “Family Tree Therapy was created to be that space, one where children and families can grow stronger together.”
The opening of Family Tree Therapy represents a meaningful addition to Belleville’s health and wellness community, supporting not only children but also parents, caregivers, and families seeking guidance and connection. The practice reflects a deep commitment to community wellbeing and early intervention, recognizing that supporting children today helps build a healthier community for the future.
