Bay of Quinte Small Business Week ran October 19 to 23. It brought together business owners from Brighton to Trenton and Belleville for networking, pitches, and a celebration of local success. Here’s a look back at the week and our BCC involvement.
Day 1 – Monday: Kick Off at Loyalist
We opened the week on October 19 at Nourish at Loyalist College. The Belleville, Quinte West, and Prince Edward County chambers presented the kick-off in partnership with BDC. Thank you to BCC President Sandi Ramsay for her remarks to open the week, and to everyone who came out to start things off.
Day 2 – Tuesday: Women in Business
On Tuesday, the Belleville Chamber of Commerce joined our friends at the Quinte West Chamber of Commerce for Women in Business: Redefining Success at The Landmark in Trenton. It was great to be in the room with so many of you.

Wednesday was our biggest day for the BCC. In the morning, we hosted more than 30 local businesses and organizations who took the stage for Not a Trade Show – making their three-minute pitches publicly and recorded by YourTV!
There were no booths, no slides, and no banners. A plumber, a balloon artist, a barber, and a travel agent each got the same three minutes. Read the full recap here and watch the video series on our BCC YourTube channel, here, recorded by YourTV.
Thank you to our sponsors: major sponsor SaveOnEnergy, a division of Elexicon Energy, along with the Bay of Quinte Regional Marketing Board, Belleville IQ – City of Belleville, The Centre for Workforce Development, and the Pentecostals of Quinte, who hosted. A special thank-you to YourTV for recording every round.
That evening, we joined the Quinte West and Prince Edward County chambers for the Mega Mingle at Occasions by the Bay. With over 190 members registered among all three chambers, it was certainly a busy event! Check out the Mega Mingle Photo Gallery, here.

We headed to Timber Ridge Golf Course for morning networking at the Brighton Business Breakfast, hosted with the Municipality of Brighton. We were joined by other BCC Members and members of our Board for a round of golf!
We wrapped up the week at the 30th Quinte Business Achievement Awards gala at Legacy Events. There were 35 Belleville Chamber members were nominated, and five took home awards. Congratulations to all of our nominees, and a special shout-out to our winners:

Congratulations to everyone who was acknowledged at the Quinte Business Achievement Awards. We look forward to hearing more from our winners at our BCC Breakfast on November 25! To hear from the BCC QBAA winners, Register for the breakfast, here.
Thank you to everyone who came out, presented, and connected during Small Business Week. See you next year!
