The Belleville Chamber of Commerce is pleased to celebrate the grand opening of Jersey Mike’s Subs at 287 North Front Street East, Unit 1.
Jersey Mike’s Subs brings the iconic fast-casual brand known for its fresh sliced and fresh grilled sub sandwiches to the Bay of Quinte Region for the first time.
A ribbon cutting ceremony was held on April 29, 2026, and was attended by local municipal dignitaries and community leaders, marking Belleville’s distinction as home to the first Jersey Mike’s east of the Greater Toronto Area. The opening coincides with World Wish Day, launching a five-day fundraiser for Make-A-Wish® Canada running through Sunday, May 3.
The Belleville location is operated by Redberry Restaurants, the sole franchisor of the Jersey Mike’s brand in Canada and one of the country’s largest QSR franchisees, with more than 200 restaurants nationwide under the BURGER KING®, Taco Bell, and Jersey Mike’s Subs brands.
The Belleville location is Redberry’s 25th Jersey Mike’s opening since late 2024, which is part of a plan to launch 300 Canadian locations over the next decade. Founded in 1956, Jersey Mike’s has grown to more than 3,200 locations across North America, ranking #1 on Entrepreneur’s 2026 Franchise 500.
“As the centre of the Bay of Quinte Region, Belleville is perfectly situated to help us introduce Jersey Mike’s to a new segment of Ontario,” said a spokesperson for Redberry Restaurants. “We want to give more Canadian sub lovers the chance to enjoy the authentic, fresh-made subs this iconic brand is known for.”
Jersey Mike’s is “A Sub Above” — premium meats and cheeses sliced fresh on the spot, piled high on in-store baked bread. Subs made Mike’s Way® are finished with fresh onions, lettuce, and tomatoes, plus a signature drizzle of “the juice”: red wine vinegar, olive oil, and house spices including oregano.
To celebrate the opening during World Wish Month™, Jersey Mike’s and Redberry are hosting a five-day fundraiser for Make-A-Wish Canada. Customers with a special grassroots-distributed coupon can make a minimum $3 donation in exchange for a regular sub. Those without a coupon can download the Jersey Mike’s app and earn a free regular sub after their first in-app purchase, and a donation box near the register welcomes contributions from all guests. Since 2024, Jersey Mike’s Canadian locations have raised more than $373,000 for local causes, including nearly $260,000 for Make-A-Wish Canada.
