New Ownership of 47-year-old menswear institution
BELLEVILLE, 2024 –
In 2024, Taylor Russett, a 24-year-old entrepreneur, embarked on a new journey by taking over the reins of Lafferty’s Menswear, a staple menswear shop with a 47-year legacy.
With a background that includes founding a successful wedding photography company at the age of 17, and later establishing the acclaimed Grind and Vine café and wine bar, Taylor brings a fresh perspective and innovative vision to the world of menswear retail.
Along with his diverse portfolio of successful ventures, Taylor was also named among the Top 30 Under 30 Canadian Tourism Leaders, and Young Entrepreneur of the Year. Taylor is poised to revolutionize the menswear retail landscape with his latest endeavor, Lafferty’s.
Russett’s connection to Lafferty’s runs deep, stemming from childhood memories of receiving shirts, ties, and more from the establishment frequently, since the age of 10. This early appreciation for quality menswear laid the foundation for Russett’s passion for fashion and style.
Under Taylor’s leadership, Lafferty’s is set to undergo a transformative evolution. While honoring its rich heritage, the shop will embrace a forward-thinking approach, pushing the envelope on quality menswear for all ages, seasons, and fashion sensibilities.

Tom Lafferty, the original founder, leaves behind a legacy of exceptional service and philanthropy in the Bay of Quinte area. For over 47 years, he has been a community leader, known for his generosity and always being “the sharpest dressed man in the room.” His dedication to quality menswear has set the standard for fashion in the region. Tom will continue to serve the area’s menswear needs as a continued member of Lafferty’s Menswear team.
Established in 1977, Lafferty’s has been a cornerstone of the local fashion scene for nearly five decades, offering premium menswear and exceptional service to discerning customers. From its beginnings in the Belleville Mall to its recent expansion to Belleville’s downtown, Lafferty’s is set to embark on an exciting new chapter under the leadership of Taylor Russett.
